  The Bible Says
It has been said, “The Gospels do not explain the Resurrection; the Resurrection explains the Gospels. Belief in the Resurrection is not an appendage to the Christian faith; it is the Christian faith.” Martin Luther wrote: “The Lord has written the promise of the resurrection not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.”
“Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons” (Mark 16:9).
“Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it. His countenance was like lightening, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. “But the angel answered and said to the women, ‘do not be afraid for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as he said. Come see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead . . .” (Matt. 28:1-7).
“So they rose up that very hour and returned unto Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, ‘The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon (Peter).’ ” (Luke 24:33,34).
“After that He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.” (Mark 16:12,13).
“Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.” (Mark 16:14, 15)
“And he was seen by Cephas (Peter), then by the twelve.” (1 Corinthians 15:5)
“After these things, Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself” (John 21:1)
“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some doubted.” (Matthew 28:16, 17)
“After that he was seen by James, then by all the apostles.” (1 Corinthians 15:7)
“So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” (Mark 16:19-20)
“But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, ‘Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!’” (Acts 7:55, 56)
“Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.” (1 Corinthians 15:8)
“Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city’” (Acts 18: 9,10)
“Now it happened, when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, that I was in a trance and saw Him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, for they will not receive your testimony concerning me.’ ” (Acts 22:17, 18)
“But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, ‘Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.’” (Acts 23:11)
“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,” (Revelation 1:10)
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.
