THE WORLD vs. THE BIBLE

In this report I will try to explain the Biblical views verses the Worldly views on eating, drinking, smoking, drugs and boys and babies.

THE WORLDLY TEENAGE VIEW POINT ON EATING

Teenage girls like to lose weight even though they don’t have to. If they gain a few pounds, they want to lose ten. They starve themselves to get themselves thin and then they get too thin. They become anorexic and if they become adults then they have problems. Anorexia means to eat something and make yourself throw it up. It sounds disgusting but it is the truth.

THE BIBLICAL VIEWPOINT ON EATING

Food is to be enjoyed but you are not to be gluttons or starve yourself. Gluttony is more than overeating. “It describes a life given to excess” (Nelson). So when you are called a glutton, you are being excessive in something like swearing, or lying, or listening to non-Christian music. The world will not care if you are in poverty. If it did, unsaved people would take homeless people and starving families into their homes.

THE WORLDLY PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHES ON BOYS AND BABIES

The good thing about the public school system is that it actually teaches you not to have premarital relations and that you should actually be pure. They are discouraging pregnancy but the bad thing is that if you have premarital relations, use a condom. Abortion is an alternative answer to pregnancy and you should go to your school counselor. They discourage talking to their parents about it.

THE WORLDLY TEEN AGE VIEW ON BOYS AND BABIES

Teenagers believe that having premarital relations is fine. On the third date they are expected to invite the boys in and they sleep together.

THE BIBLICAL VIEW ON BOYS AND BABIES

The Bible teaches that you should have total abstinence outside of marriage. “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral” (Heb. 13:4 NIV). That means that you should remain loyal to your husband. The definition of adulterer means being disloyal to your spouse. This verse makes it very clear that there is no compromise in the Bible. Therefore abortion is not an option. Condoms are not an option. If God wants you to have a child, then you should have a child. The marriage bed is holy and is ordered by God.

THE WORLDLY PUBLIC SCHOOL VIEWPOINT ON DRINKING

Their viewpoint is “don’t drink.” The teachers and the school do not actually say ‘don’t drink.’ It was the officer in the school that said it. The school’s teaching is more implied than direct.

THE WORLDLY TEENAGE VIEWPOINT ON DRINKING

The worldly teenager basically believes that it is perfectly fine to drink but you do not want to get drunk because your parents will find out. They don’t think there is anything wrong with it. The boys think that it is cool and will make them popular. Anything the boys think is cool, the girls agree with. A girl may not want to drink but they will drink anyway to please their date. They don’t want them to get angry. No unsaved teenager will think they will ever become an alcoholic because they believe they have control in every area of their life.

THE BIBLICAL VIEWPOINT ON DRINKING

The Bible does not accept any excuse for drinking—underage or not. “Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusing things. You will be the one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging. “They hit me,” you will say. “but I’m not hurt! They beat me, but I don’t feel it! When will I wake up so I can find another drink?” (Proverbs 23:31-35 NIV)

Drinking will destroy you emotionally and physically. If you have too much wine or beer in your body, you will die. I have known about this through a former drinker.

THE WORLDLY PUBLIC SCHOOL’S VIEWPOINT ON SMOKING

The public school system actually teaches you not to smoke. They show films, make speeches, and pass out pamphlets. Even as they teach this, teenagers are smoking on the school grounds. But they hide: they don’t smoke in public.

THE WORLDLY PUBLIC SCHOOL’S VIEWPOINT ON DRUGS

The public school system disagrees with drugs . . . the bad thing is that it does not help any and the teenagers do drugs anyway. . . the teenagers seem to be saying they can use self control and not get addicted.

THE BIBLICAL VIEWPOINT ON DRUGS

Doing drugs is the most dangerous weapon Satan can use in my opinion. Did you know that drugs and sorcery are connected?

Exodus 7:11 says, “Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.” (KJV).

In this verse “sorcerers” is translated by Strong’s as, 3784 kashaph (kaw-shaf); a primitive root; properly, to whisper a spell, that is to chant or practice magic (KJV).
