"But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth" (Colossians 3:8).

"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering . . . as Christ forgave you, so also do you" (Colossians 3:12,13).

TORTURE IN THE NAME OF RELIGION

The Washington Post on December 16, 2001, pictured a 28-year-old man, Dol Agha, one of hundreds to have "his right hand and left foot amputated by the Taliban in Kabul Stadium," where "he was forced to lay on his back. A soldier sat on him to hold him down. Someone pulled off his left shoe. The hooded doctor pushed up his sleeve . . . he remembers hearing soldiers laughing before everything went black. Agha is one of hundreds of Afghans, unjustly accused, whose limbs were amputated under the Taliban’s fundamentalist interpretation of the Koran. The mutilations were a regular show, a Friday afternoon bloodletting, to keep the population in line . . . "

The Taliban fundamentalists were carrying out to the letter the direct teaching of their founder Mohammed whose philosophy was built upon hate. Following is a direct quotation from his writings:

Mohammed then made this statement: "The punishment of those who wage war against God and His Apostle (Mohammed). . . is execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of the hands and feet from opposite sides," ["the right hand and the left foot," Qur’anic Commentary], or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the hereafter." Sura 5, 36

Mohammed continued: "I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips off them. This because they contended against God and His Apostle . . ." Sura 8, 12-13

MOHAMMED DIED IN PRAYER

On June 8, 632, Mohammed fell ill of a violent fever and died in Medina in the arms of his favorite wife. Historian Philip Schaff records that the dying Mohammed "suffered great pain cried and wailed, turned on his couch in despair . . . "Among his final words was a cry that God would "destroy the Jews and Christians . . ." Mohammed was 62 years old.

CHRIST ALSO DIED IN PRAYER

While on the Cross suffering untold pain and agony at the hands of cruel enemies, Jesus prayed, "Father forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34).

MUSLIMS FOLLOW THE TEACHINGS OF MOHAMMED

Saudi Scholar Dr. Muhammad-al-Amin in his book, The Method of Islamic Law, plainly states:

"No infidel should be left on his land as it is denoted from Mohammed’s statement: ‘I was commanded to fight the people’ until they bear testimony to the fact that there is no God but Alla and that Mohammed is his messenger."

CHRISTIANS FOLLOW THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you; that you may be the Children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to shine on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust" (Matthew 5:43-45).

In his book "Living Beyond the Limits," Franklin Graham tells of working for the Lord in war-torn Bosnia, not as a world-renowned Evangelist, but as a humble relief worker under the GOOD SAMARITAN PURSE. In that war it was the Serbs who were mercilessly overpowering the Muslims. In one of Graham’s observations he declares, "The Serbs treated the Muslims with less compassion than they would treat a dog."

One of the victims was a middle-age Muslim General who lost both his legs during the war, but who stood proud and erect on artificial limbs. His son was killed during the war, leaving a daughter-in-law with two small children. GOOD SAMARITAN PURSE put a roof and some windows back on his home, an act much appreciated. But Graham was still concerned about the man’s future. How could this man provide living for his enlarged family, while crippled and unable to till his soil and raise a crop. There was no governmental assistance in Bosnia. Tears came to the man’s eyes, and he said, "If I only had a cow, we would have milk and cheese for the children." He was not asking for a cow – just trying to answer Graham’s question. Franklin Graham bought him a cow with his own money and the man kept it in the first story of his house and treated it as one of the family. Remember this was a proud Muslim General. He then said with tears in his eyes, "You Christians are the only ones who help us."

JESUS ALWAYS PROMOTES LOVE

"A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another" (John 13:34,35).
